The State Government, through our Community Partnerships Program, has awarded more than $465,000 to support 72 community initiatives across regional and remote Western Australia.
The State and Federal Governments have delivered more than $185,000 in energy saving credits to households in the Kimberley, supporting cleaner, more reliable and lower-cost energy for remote First Nations communities.
Horizon Power's Kimberley Communities Solar Saver (KCSS) program supports households unable to afford individual rooftop solar. Instead, solar panels are installed across selected homes, with the credits shared among the community.
Each year, the WA State Government reviews electricity prices to better reflect the cost of supplying power across the state.
To keep pricing fair, the Government applies a Uniform Tariff Policy, meaning all customers in WA pay the same for electricity, regardless of where they live.
Tropical Cyclone Narelle caused significant power outages and damage across Exmouth. We know recovery can take time, and managing essential services is one less thing you should have to worry about.
To support the Exmouth community, we are providing electricity related support to help eligible residential and small business customers recover. This support focuses on electricity costs and reconnection and sits alongside other disaster assistance available through the State Government.
